The goal - deep concentration in front of a 3rd party observer, doing the doing, and freely responding to your impulses.
Students new to the technique will be taken through the repetition exercise, the independent activity, and be given a small scene to apply these practices to text. 
Ms. Jones teaches acting at the Canadian Film Centre and is in her 5th year teaching at The Neighborhood School of Theatre in Manhattan and teaches according to Sanford Meisner's original intentions.
